Second Cultural Gathering of International Students of the Tehran Universities
The second cultural gathering of international students of the Tehran universities, hosted by the international administration of the K. N. Toosi University of Technology, and focused on Afghan students, was held on Monday, May 24, 2024 at the Mollasadra Campus of the KNTU. This gathering, which was named as “One Heart and One Soul” event, was largely welcomed by international students as nearly 450 people attended the event. During this event, Afghan students from 12 universities in Tehran displayed part of their rich culture and traditions through local music, performances and songs, while introducing their country. In addition to university officials and cultural and artistic personalities of Afghanistan, representatives of the Afghanistan´s Olympic Committee were also present.
Among the important parts of this event, a side exhibition showcasing part of the artistic creations of the Afghan residents in Iran were displayed in the fields of sculpture, needlework, painting and calligraphy, and were welcomed by the participants. Furthermore, a number of Afghan students carved the map of this country on a travertine slab and placed it in the hall so that the participants could sign a plaque to remember their presence in this cultural meeting as a symbolic gesture of cultural understanding. At the end of the ceremony, the participants were treated with a number of traditional Afghan dishes.
It should be mentioned that students from Sharif University of Technology, Amir Kabir University of Technology, Kharazmi, Al-Zahra, various units of Islamic Azad University, as well Shahid Beheshti University formed joint performance groups along with Afghan students of the KNTU.
