Multidisciplinary Design Optimization; Theory and New Aerospace Applications
Aerospace Faculty of K.N.Toosi University of Technology holds the “Multidisciplinary Design Optimization; Theory and New Aerospace Applications” Webinar on Wednesday, 08 May 2024 that present by Prof. Jafar Roshanian from KNTU and Benyamin Ebrahimi.
Multidisciplinary design optimization is a modern field of research that studies the application of numerical optimization techniques to the design of engineering systems involving multiple disciplines or components. Since the inception of multidisciplinary design optimization, various methods (architectures) have been developed and applied to solve multidisciplinary design optimization problems. This webinar is going to introduce multidisciplinary design optimization as a modern intelligent general design approach and to address its applications to aerospace system design. In this speech at first, the history of aerospace system design will be reviewed. Then the conventional approach to design of aerospace systems briefly will be described. In the following, multidisciplinary character of aerospace system design and main disciplines will be introduced. Definition and different architectures of multidisciplinary design optimization with its advantages versus traditional methods also will be discussed. In the second part of the webinar, some new aerospace applications of multidisciplinary design optimization, implemented by the presenters will be introduced.
