Lectures of world leading physicists at Sharif University of Technology

The Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation held “Knowledge Application and Notion for Society” scientific competition.
The aim of it was to address several subjects in Islamic countries such as Water, Environment and Energy; Health and MedTech; ICT; Transportation; Economics, Banking and Finance; etc.
Prof. Cumrun Vafa from theoretical physics department at Harvard University (a leading researcher in string theory) and Prof. Zahid Hasan from the Department of Physics at Princeton University are the winners of the competition, who are speak at Sharif University of Technology.
The topic of Prof. Cumrun Vafa speach is “String Theory and Our Universe”. Vafa’s research achievements in different subjects of high energy physics helped to better understand quantum gravity, black holes, particle physics, early universe and the cosmological constant. He will talk about the commonalities of string theories and latest findings in this event.

The topic of Prof. Zahid Hasan speach is “Topological Quantum Matter and the New Physics Frontiers” and will talk about the recent developments in this field. Zahid Hasan is a worldwide-known figure in this field and has discovered many topological materials in his lab in recent years.
