UT5 “The alliance of five leading Iranian Universities of Technology” is Founded
Five leading Iranian technical universities has initiated the “Group of Five Universities (UT5)” in Iran.
Isfahan University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Sharif University of Technology, and Iran University of Science and Technology have initiated this alliance with the purpose of synergetic collaboration, especially at international level. The agreement of this alliance is signed on Dec. 3rd, 2019, after five consecutive meetings of a group of global strategy experts of the universities, with the chancellors of the universities, and approval of the agreement by the university board of directors. This alliance has officially started its programs.
Currently there are more than 2000 faculty members, 52000 students, 760 research laboratories, 41 research centers affiliated with this alliance. Moreover, more than 260’000 graduates has obtained their degrees from these universities in the field of Science and Technology, while many of them are currently leading national industrial managers or influencer, or internationally recognized researchers in their fields of expertise. Collaboration of this alliance with the leading international universities and research centers will naturally expand through this synergy. This alliance will further influence the national strategies and policies of sustainable development of the country in the field of Science and Technology.
